To configure both your OS and browser, you will need the other Windows 8 (or 8.1) ISO and your browser. Before you start, you will need to download a utility called “Windows 8 to 8.1 PowerShell Converter”. This ISO is not the same as the 8.1 release, but it has a utility which allows you to convert between both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. When you have downloaded the ISO, you will need to add the new ISO to your hard drive, and boot from it. If you have other ISOs on your hard drive, you will need to delete them first.

On the first screen that comes up, press the “Install Windows” button at the bottom of the screen. If you’re running Windows 8 on a computer with English language, select “English (United States)” when you get to the language choice screen. Press “Next” when prompted. If you’re using Windows 8 on a computer with a different language, select “Your Language” and select your language.

Press “Install” to start the install process. When it asks you for a product key, type in the product key you have created. The rest of the process is similar to installing Windows 8, so we will not be repeating all of that. Once the install is complete, reboot your computer and it should be usable.

Once you have installed your copy of Windows 8, the built-in apps will be ready to use. If you don’t like the way these apps look, you can right-click anywhere on the desktop and select “Personalize”, then click on the “Themes” tab. From there you can choose from many built-in themes, or you can download your own from the web. When you find one you like, click it, then click the “Change Layout” button in the bottom-right corner and select a new layout for the desktop.
