silent hill 3 expands on silent hill 2s new perspective on psychosis. this is a town where the air is so saturated with radiation and the light is so distorted that it has to be referred to as silent hill the movie. other than the humans who live there, theres also monsters, including one who looks like a bear but is much larger and stronger, a large pair of eyes, and a series of familiar creatures from the series. it plays like a horror movie where the dialogue breaks up the action. more importantly, you can discover a method to confront this monster. of course, you can fight and kill it, but that does a number on you, leaving you vulnerable to even more horror when you go back to the town. it probably doesnt solve the larger problems created by the characters in the town, but players are forced to confront them and work through them. the world is complete and you end up feeling like you were present in the town from the beginning of the game.
