I have the following Regex which is supposed to match a string of n digits, where n is variable, followed by a [space] followed by at least one character from the alphabet (let’s call it A) then followed by n more digits.
“^(\\d{1,3})[ ]+(A\\d{1,3})+(\\d{1,3})$”

This works in Ruby, but not in PHP.
In PHP, I use the following:
if(preg_match(‘/^(\\d{1,3})[ ]+(A\\d{1,3})+(\\d{1,3})$/’, $i))

But if $i is an empty string, it doesn’t pass. I think this is because of the ([ ]) characters, but I can’t seem to get rid of them.
