Madonna The Confessions Tour was filmed and directed by American film director Jonus Akerlund, This tour was widely praised by critics and is one of the greatest concert tours of all time. Madonna began the tour in Sacramento, California and continued with appearances in the following cities until she performed in Glasgow on December 1.

The Confessions Tour DVD was released on August 10, 2005 in Europe, Australia and Asia, the DVD was sold exclusively via its own website and Madonna’s web store. It is available in two formats: DVD (uncompressed PCM 1.0 stereo) and DVD-A. Digital Album € 24.90 The DVD is available in the following formats: PAL, NTSC, Region 1, Region 2, Region Free. All PAL DVD players.

There has been some controversy on the news that Madonna’s latest album, Confessions On A Dance Floor, is misleading. Madonna says, “Nothing was edited out of the concert. The entire show was shot, but I wasn’t able to watch it until the day after the show. When I watched the show, I was surprised to find myself feeling a bit embarrassed. I thought that nothing was missing,”.

The video for the song, Hung Up, from the album Confessions, is set to premiere in the last week of August 2005. Madonna also added the following new songs to the setlist: Russian Roulette, She Don’t Kill Your Feelings, Material Girl, Live To Tell (full version), Love Profusion (Instrumental) and Music.

Like Love and Like a Prayer, Confessions is an album whose precise objectives are to be defined in the context of its supporting concert CD/DVD package, and that makes it particularly interesting. Like a Prayer was touring support for Like a Virgin, and the album sold well largely because the show was spectacular. Love was a very personal recording project, directed at the memory of the mother who had given birth to her daughters eight years earlier. So Confessions, with its title referring to Madonna’s spiritual autobiography, was supposed to be a purely personal and emotionally inspired project. Yet it was also designed to be a commercial hit. Like a Prayer was very successful, selling over nine million copies, while Love just barely made the top 100. Billboard reported that the album performed well at US retail, but did not suggest how much, because it simply chose not to report that information.
