Charles James Whitworth (20 April 1817 – 25 February 1887) was an English Anglican priest, educator, and the second master of Christ’s Hospital, Newgate Street.

Life
He was born at Farnworth in Lancashire on 20 April 1817, the only son of John Whitworth. He was educated at the Manchester Collegiate School, and at the Manchester Grammar School, where he passed the B.A. and M.A. examinations, and afterwards became fellow of King’s College, Cambridge, 1836–1838.
