I need to disable or limit the profiler and instrumentation on the development version of my Android application. My goal is to limit the performance consumed by these tools.
I do not want to completely remove the profiler and instrumentation, because I will want to have the profiler and instrumentation on the release version of my application. I would just limit the performance they eat up.
According to this article, I should be able to disable the profiling using the following Android setting:

However, I am not able to find the DISABLE_PROFILING setting in my AndroidManifest.xml.
