The above program will get the list of all slaves for this instrument. Since GPIB runs in master and slave mode, it can communicate with multiple instruments or slaves. For example, while one instrument is in master, another may run in slave mode.
To run an application, all it needs to do is to create an instance of the instrument class. It is passed the GPIB driver name and the bus. In case of 1 wire, the bus is always default bus ( ‘2’ ).

Once the card has started running and started transmitting data, the host computer will be informed on an interrupt. The interrupt will come from one of the GPIB devices. This means that there will be different instances of instrument for different GPIB devices. Since the GPIB card’s interface is shared for all GPIB devices, the instrument instance can be accessed through GPIB driver. More on this below.
To know how to deal with the interrupt, you should read the GPIB document. Basically, the interrupt is passed through the interface that is shared by all GPIB devices.
