This macro allows you to adjust the multiple settings of the filter, frequency, gain and cutoff of a Valve Amplifier simulator. It works as a Graphic user interface allowing you to select all the parameters you want to adjust in a Valve Amplifier Simulator, or one parameter at the time.

It has 2 modes, switch the filter mode with RSHIFT+NUM1 or ENTER, in the other press NUM1 twice to get out of the filter mode and start adjusting other parameters.

Supported Features:
The macro works on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7. You can choose to get the (X)64 or the (X)32 version of the program. However it seems to run faster on the X64 version, but the other one has more features. You can also choose to run the VAS macro in a normal window, or hidden.

“Audio Valve Simulator” is an audio-oriented DSP program. It generates harmonics by using the x3/2 characteristic with a non-linear model of an audio valve amplifier (Electro-Voice) with three valves operating in push-pull configuration.

Audio Valve Simulator consists of a single sound card input that can be loaded with all available 44.1kHz/16Bit WAV audio files. It calculates how many amps a valve amplifier would need to produce the resulting harmonic distortion curve, on x3/2, and finally converts it into amplitude.

This is a phase correcting effect, meaning that an audio wave passes through a phase corrector and is multiplied in amplitude by a corrective factor. The resulting harmonic distortion in a valve amplifier is too complex to be calculated directly. A linear x3/2 curve is therefore used to accurately simulate a valve amplifier. In the audio world, this is often referred to as a harmonic distortion limiter.
