1. duplicate the firmware files in the directory you flash them in. remove all the flash packages in the directory. put new firmware files in the same directory. opentx stores them in flash, it wont read other flash packages and will not link to the old ones.

if you get an error message like “com.trolltech.tools.unix.com.jlink.jlinkexception: error: opentx archive: no such file or directory” during the process, try using the “current” directory. that might be how linux is treating the flash directory.

after flashing opentx firmware, your model profiles should still be there, that includes their settings. you shouldnt need to to re-bind receivers, everything should work as they were before. with that said, you should still make backup of the models, existing firmware and sd card content before flashing opentx, just in case something goes wrong.

this is my second unbricked skycontroller drone. the first worked perfectly until one day it stopped working and i was unable to fix it. so when i bought my second, i knew i had to make sure this one worked. i followed this guide and it worked perfectly. i installed the firmware immediately after unbricking the first skycontroller drone and my second is working like a charm. unbrick by neo2tx.com

fyi, for info, when the drone was unbrick by unbrickit.com, the chip was cracked a bit, causing the cloud to be a shadow of it’s full size; but after i plugged it back in and updated firmware, the cloud size was its size after i flashed the new firmware.

i did everything just as the instructions said, except i missed something and had no idea what it was. i followed this forum, read every post on it and still didn’t know what to look for. i followed exactly all the instructions and the drone worked perfectly. my only issue is the chip was cracked at one side. other than that i don’t know what happened.

I have a Taranis X9D SE version3.0.60. For some reason this computer cannot find this flash. I tried the same procedure that was shown on the video & it did not work. This is probably one of my last chances to get this flash to work. I have tried several sources for the flash from this site but it does not work. Can someone please send me the correct flash driver to work with this computer to make the Taranis work.
John, I did the firmware upgrade, not bootloader. I did not find my bootloader files on bootloader.zip or boot.zip. I just made some changes to boot.conf file and also added the sd card to the nvme boot order. Where can I find these files? Because if I open bootloader.zip, it is empty. Also, is there any way I can open bootloader.zip and then copy some of the files from it to some dummy bootloader file to make the flashloader start?
I just upgraded my taranis from 2.2.0 to 2.2.1. All of the 1st revisions now flash successfully with the firmware upgrade. However, when I try to write the bootloader to the flash and reboot, I get a black screen with a white flashing line, a pink/purple gradient, and a small text box in the upper right hand corner. I do not know if this indicates a problem with the rest of the software. At any rate, after some investigation it seems that I need an older version of the firmware. For instance, on firmware 2.0.8, I get the same thing as when I updated to 2.2.0 on 2.2.1. So, I think I need to downgrade to 2.0.8. But, I cannot downgrade the firmware to 2.0.8 because it won’t flash. I even tried the old version that works with 2.0.8 and got the same result.
