To blend layers, first select the Layers panel in the bottom menu bar with your left hand. (If you’re right-handed, you’ll be selecting with your right hand.) Hit the M key to activate the Move tool. Now, click and drag a highlighted layer into your document in the Layers panel. It will appear at the top of the layer switcher like this:

Once you’ve dragged it, hold down the shortcut CTRL+J to resize it. It is possible to resize the layer with the pushpins at its corners.
