In our time the Chinese Buddhists offer incense to Ksitigarbha, with the hope of his intercession to achieve their spiritual aspirations and worldly aims.

A short history: – In the Chinese tradition, Buddhism is known as Zen (pronounced “Ch’an”) and is a variation of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The tradition began in India and was brought to China via the Silk Road from India by the 7th century.

The tradition began with the Bodhisattva and is associated with enlightenment, especially the enlightenment of all beings, and the path to enlightenment, the bodhisattva path.
