The median tumor size was 5.0 cm (range, 2.5-7.0 cm). One patient experienced recurrence within the Milan criteria. The other four patients had tumors that exceeded the Milan criteria. All five patients achieved complete tumor necrosis following chemoembolization. Four patients received HBV-positive grafts, and one patient received an HBV-negative graft. All patients were negative for serum hepatitis B surface antigen before transplantation. Recurrence occurred in one of four patients with a tumor size larger than the Milan criteria. The patient died of cerebral infarction 2 months after LT. The other three patients were alive at the time of writing, with 1, 3, and 5 years of follow-up, respectively.
