The upgrade from CS6 to CS6 64-bit from Elements is a breeze. I was also able to update the CS4 version of Elements to CS5. Also, you will need to invest $150 for the upgrade license. Once you have updated to CS6, we’d recommend upgrading to CS6 64-bit, rather than switching between the CS4 version and the CS6 64-bit version. The update process is simple and automatic. However, on my first attempt at opening my CS5 Catalog after the upgrade, the Catalog showed a strange folder organization. When the Catalog was opened up, all the thumbnails showed the old organization. It took me some time to figure out how to get the thumbnails to show the new organization pattern. To resolve the issue, I simply opened up the Thumbnail pane and selected “Reset Thumbs to Search” and the organization was restored. Once this was done, all the new organization was fresh. Since then, I’ve not run into any other issues.
Do note however that if you still have CS4, you will need to upgrade to CS5 before moving to CS6. Sometimes, the process can fail getting to CS6 from Elements, and the only recourse is to recreate the CS4 Catalog in CS5 before performing the update. My guess is that both the CS4 and CS5 versions do not claim use of the 64-bit version, and I suspect this is what brings about the display and organization issue with the Catalog. I’d rather avoid having to go back to CS4 before the update if I can. Thus, I recommend that all users act swiftly and get moving to CS6.

Since Photoshop is cumbersome during editing and makes it hard to achieve perfect results when using it’s unlimited features, a new program is needed to fulfil most of these functions, and it has been made available as a free downloadable version of the application which is termed as \”Photoshop Express\”. Photoshop Express is a very simple and unconventional way to manage your photographs. It is a simple program that gives you an easy to use interface and automate your editing and instant image sharing.

All right, I’ve been a fan since the dark teen days of the press-processed computer photo formats and the early days of Photoshop, and I’ve been a “Photomug” for 12 years now. That was pretty exciting, back then. But a few years ago I discovered Lightroom 4 and, well, pretty much all good things come to an end. I quickly got reacquainted with the world of Lightroom and Photoshop and I have a huge collection of Photoshop CS/ON images I’ll never turn back because I don’t like learning new tools. But Lightroom doesn’t work for everything. Delta NR fixes things the way I like them to look. It’s mostly the gradients that don’t do the best with NXT processing. If you use traditional brick-wall gradients (not the tumbling sort in Lightroom or CS4’s new gradients), you’re not going to be able to use the HDR feature with a lot of old tutorials.

It’s like the Democrats win every time. As the Mac community has seen over the last few years, the market share of PCs continues to shrink compared to Macs. Perhaps that’s because PCs are quite mature, and ease of use has weighed against the Windows user experience. Vast numbers of creative people are Mac users, and I love seeing them winning. It’s a great time in the world of creative software. I’ve been doing this for 25 years, it’s great to see what’s coming.
